LIX IIPP Scientific Meeting "Risk and Resource: The Response of Prehistoric Communities to Environmental Challenges"

Thursday, 28th March 2024

The LIX Scientific Meeting of the IIPP, which will take place on the seventieth anniversary of the foundation of the Italian Institute of Prehistory and Protohistory and on the centenary of the University of Florence, will be held in Florence (Italy), in collaboration with the Department of Biology of the University of Florence and will be dedicated to the theme: “Risk and Resource: The Response of Prehistoric Communities to Environmental Challenges".

The Scientific Meeting aims to present and discuss studies that, using interdisciplinary scientific approaches, investigate the relationship between ancient communities and the environment, verifying how they interacted with their ecosystem and reacted to its changes. The evidence of ongoing climate change has indeed brought to the forefront the complexity of this relationship and emphasized the need to understand the mechanisms of long-term environmental changes and their effect on landscape, economy, and human societies.

The deadline for submitting proposals for contributions and posters to the Scientific Meeting Secretariat ( evhafpvvcc2024@tznvy.pbzmoc.liamg@4202ppiicsnuir ) has been extended to April 15, 2024.
