Archaeological heritage policies and management structures

The commission aims to set up regular meetings concerning the exchange of experience on archaeological heritage policies and management structures on a global level. In a globalized world it seems important to keep a regular exchange among specialists in order to reach a maximum effect for the management of the archaeological heritage. Models, good pactise and solutions to individual sites and landscapes shall help to develop heritage management through better understanding among specialists respecting the regional, national and global diversities and individualities.

The interdependence and the effect for science is part of the considerations and a special view is given to the integrated approach of heritage management and science.

It is proposed to have sessions during every UISPP conference on special themes; above it is planned to give a special session on good examples from the regional management agencies in which the UISPP conferences every 3 years.
